Done on our own company first.
From Odoo Online to Community — with your history
We moved our own books from Odoo Online to Odoo Community — every posted journal entry from the start — and checked the reports against Online to the penny.
The problem
Moving from Odoo Online to Community usually means starting again from opening balances: last year’s Profit and Loss and the General Ledger stay behind in Online, and the accountant has to compare two systems.
What we did
- All posted journal entries moved. 28,042 journal entries with 60,280 lines, from Odoo Online into Odoo 19 Community on our lab. Partners were anonymised for the test.
- Your fiscal year as it is. It does not have to end in December — ours ends on 31 August, and the reports follow it.
- Reports in Community. Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and Executive Summary come from our UK Financial Reports module.

How we checked it
- Movements on 57 accounts matched Odoo Online.
- Profit and Loss for two fiscal years, the Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and Executive Summary matched Online to the penny.
